Total money raised for Wildlands to date: R5525.00

The winner of the competition is Mr. Alex Weed. Alex predicted position 357. According to the Natal Mercury I finished in overall position 325. Alex was the closest. The next closest was Ian Cloete on 360 (Sorry Ian, soooo close).
Thanks again for the support and don't feel bad if you didn't win. Your money has gone to a great cause managed by an excellent team so you can rest assured your money will be very well spent. As part of Comrades 2011, alone, Wildlands is planting 30,000 trees in a project to restore a degraded natural forest. How it Works:

1. Each R25 you sponsor buys you 1 guess at my overall Comrades finishing position. (You can buy as many guesses as you like) (Correct guess wins the prize, more details below)
2. You deposit your money directly into Wildlands' account: FNB Acc: 62193487735 Branch: 257355 (Midlands Mall) Reference: GeekieGC (very important).
3. You email or fax me your proof of deposit and your guess or guesses your name and a contact number. (adrian@geekiegroup.com or fax: 0865198861)
4. I will publish all names and guesses on http://www.geekigroup.com/wildlands.html on the day I receive them so everyone can see the guesses before the race begins.
5. The person who correctly guesses my finish position wins the prize. If no one guesses correctly closest guess wins.
6. If more than one person guesses correctly all correct gases go into a hat and a winner is drawn! (Same applies if more than one is equally close and there are no correct guesses)
7. If for some reason I can't run or don't finish all entries go into a hat and a winner is drawn. (If you bought more than one guess you'll get more than one entry in the draw.)
8. Finish position will be overall position (i.e. not gender or age group position) and will be as published in the newspaper results the day after the race.
9. Entries close on Friday 27 May at 12 noon.

Why Enter?

Every cent you contribute will go directly to Wildlands. (I'm sponsoring the prize) Wildlands does excellent work to preserve our environment and at the same time uplift communities in which they operate. They have many excellent programs two of which I'll highlight here. In one of their programs they assist communities to set up nurseries to grow indigenous trees. Wildlands then buys / barters these trees back from the communities for reforestation programs and creating green belts. In another program they get communities to collect recyclable waste. The communities sort the waste and once again barter or sell it back to Wildlands who recycle it. The community wins and the environment wins. Wildlands has done fantastic work in cleaning and greening SA. Details on Wildlands website
